Climbing Giant Icicles? In Sandstone, MN?

People think I'm crazy for wanting to sleep outside in the snow and cold.  Especially when it's going to be as cold and snowy as it is supposed to be this weekend.  But there is just no way that I'm going to miss the Sandstone Ice fest!  This is the sixth year of the ever growing festival just north of Hinckley, MN, and it keeps getting bigger and better each year.  With gear demos, ice climbing clinics for all ages and skill levels, live music at the Gaslight, a Surley Beer tasting, raffle, and a sweet fireworks show, the festival has something for everyone.  On top of that, this year the organizers have expanded beyond ice climbing with winter camping, skijoring and dog sledding included in the list of activities.  Come check it out!  Its going to be cold, but we have hot fires to keep our outside warm, and plenty of whiskey to keep the insides warm!

Here are a couple photo's from last year's Ice Fest.
